Notice of Proposed Rulemaking – November 14, 2018

To all interested parties, notice is hereby provided as required by O.C.G.A. § 50-13-4 that the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) proposes to initiate rulemaking procedures to adopt a new rule 691-2-.07 Multi-Year Contracts Beyond the Charter Term.   

The authority for this rulemaking is provided by Chapter 2, Article 31A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia, specifically O.C.G.A. $§ 20-2-2082, 2083, 2084, and 2091.  Copies of the proposed rules and synopses of the proposed new rules are attached to this notice below.

All interested persons are invited to submit data, views, or arguments orally in writing regarding the proposed new rules.  Opportunity for oral hearing shall be granted if requested by 25 persons who will be directly affected by the proposed rule, by a governmental subdivision, or by an association having at least 25 members.  Anyone interested in making a written statement may do so by submitting by January 29, 2019, electronically to or to the following physical address:

The SCSC will consider the adoption of the proposed new rules at its meeting on January 30, 2019, which will begin at approximately 10 a.m. in the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) Conference Room located at 854 Twin Towers East, Atlanta, Georgia 30334.
