SCSC Academic Accountability

SCSC Academic Accountability

In addition to the annual CPF report, the SCSC publishes the following academic performance reports each year:

  • The Academic Accountability Briefing serves as a companion to the Academic section of the CPF report.  The briefing provides an in-depth review of how state charters performed on each of the CPF academic accountability metrics (CCRPI, VAM, BTO) as well as historical performance trends.
  • The State Charter School Performance Report is compiled by the state’s academic accountability agency, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA), to evaluate the performance of all state charter schools using a “value-added” model (VAM) that includes statistical controls for observable student characteristics and prior academic performance.  Because this analysis includes a value-add component that controls for student characteristics, it allows for fairer performance comparisons between state charters and traditional schools.
