Local Start-Up Petition Process

Effective July 1, 2024, the Office of Charter School Compliance (OCSC) transitioned from the Georgia Department of Education to the State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) in accordance with House Bill 318. The OCSC will collaborate with SCSC staff on matters related to authorizing state charter schools and provide guidance and support to charter school stakeholders statewide.
