REGISTER NOW for Georgia Charter Schools Association's (GCSA) Financial Management Certification Program!

GCSA’s Financial Management Certification Program is offered virtually and is comprised of six courses. Each course is split into two, four-hour sessions in the same week. This fall we are offering three courses and six additional courses will be offered in the spring.  Attendees may register to attend individual courses or all courses.

Registration is open to all interested charter school employees and their Board members. This training is specifically designed to build the expertise and knowledge of charter school leaders and board members who oversee or work directly in school financial operations. Our rigorous program is tailored to address the unique financial issues facing charter schools.

If you have any additional questions about the course, email Leslie Gabbianelli, GCSA's Chief Financial Officer.

COST

Each individual course costs $300 per person and you or your school will be billed upon registration. Scholarships are available for SCSC schools.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If an attendee misses a course, they will have the opportunity to complete it again in the next semester. Following each of the six required courses, attendees must take and pass an exam (with a score of 75% or higher) to earn their certification. Participants have up to three years to take and pass all exams in order to earn certification.

Staffing Toolkit for State Charter Schools

The SCSC partnered with TNTP, formerly known as The New Teacher Project, to support state charter schools with teacher staffing and onboarding support. TNTP developed an "electronic toolkit" for state charter schools to assist leaders in identifying, selecting, developing and retaining top talent at schools. These resources are grounded in best practices and have helped schools across the country effectively manage their teacher talent and positively impact student learning in their classrooms. The toolkit is organized by topic and contain guidance on various aspects of the hiring process- from creating a staffing plan to recruiting and selecting candidates, and teacher retention. In addition, recommended action steps are provided along with keys to successful implementation of these action steps and resources to support implementation that can be customized by school. View the virtual tour of the toolkit and learn about additional opportunities to receive support.
