Erin Wright

General Counsel

As General Counsel, Erin provides legal guidance and counsel to Commission staff and oversees the legal department. The legal department is responsible for operational monitoring of charter schools, contracts, complaints from stakeholders, open records and open meetings act compliance, legislative tracking, and oversight and administration of the Commission’s policies and regulations.

Ms. Wright joined the Commission in April 2021 and previously served as the agency's Deputy General Counsel. Ms. Wright has served as an attorney within Georgia’s state agencies since November 2013, most recently at the Georgia Department of Public Health. Ms. Wright received her bachelor’s degree in international studies from Berry College and her law degree from the University of South Carolina.
