Ms. Lockett joined the SCSC in 2019 as General Counsel, guiding legislative, regulatory, and policy initiatives and overseeing the SCSC's petition evaluation and compliance monitoring activities. Before joining the SCSC, Ms. Lockett served as counsel at the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and the DeKalb County School District. She has additional experience litigating employment and education law matters in private practice. 

 

Ms. Lockett received her bachelor's degree from Spelman College and her law degree from the University of Georgia.
