Ms. Lockett oversees and provides counsel to the Executive Director on agency operations, including the agency budget, human resources, information technology, communications, strategic planning, and general office coordination. 

Ms. Lockett joined the SCSC staff in November 2019 and previously served as the agency's General Counsel. Prior to joining the SCSC, Ms. Lockett served as an attorney and subject-matter expert with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, where she supervised compliance investigations, negotiated resolution agreements, and provided technical assistance. Before working for the U.S. Department of Education, Ms. Lockett served as in-house counsel for DeKalb County School District, where she represented the district in various matters. She has additional experience litigating employment and education law matters in private practice.

Ms. Lockett received her bachelor's degree from Spelman College and law degree from the University of Georgia.
