Academic Progress Monitoring
The SCSC requires Academic Progress Monitoring when significant concerns arise regarding a charter school's ability to meet academic expectations outlined in the Comprehensive Performance Framework (CPF).
Academic Progress Monitoring Indicators
Schools enter Academic Progress Monitoring primarily through the SCSC's annual Performance Review Process; however, the SCSC may place schools on Academic Progress Monitoring at any time based on additional factors, including:
- A significant decline in Georgia Milestones scores
- Leadership instability
- High teacher turnover rate
- Enrollment declines
- Other factors suggesting academic programmatic challenge
Academic Progress Monitoring may also be included in the terms of a school’s probation or probationary charter term.
