Program Evaluation

performance eval

Although each program has unique goals and desired outcomes, two overarching goals are analyzed for each program.

1. Is the program providing support that state charter schools feel is needed and effective, and

2. Is the program stewarding state dollars responsibly by implementing a program that operates efficiently?

Leadership Advisor Program

The Leadership Advisor Program (LAP) is a support service offered by the State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) to leaders of state charter schools in Georgia. The program partners school leaders with a "leader advisor" who provides targeted mentoring and leadership development in areas of need specific to the individual school. The LAP is successful when a school leader is better equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to increase student achievement and maintain operational efficiency.

School Performance

The school performance analysis included here is separate from the academic measures evaluated for state charter school accountability in alignment with the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework. These analyses are meant to provide further insight into state charter school academic performance.

Georgia Milestones Assessments

The Georgia Milestones Assessment System is the mandatory statewide cumulative assessments for all public schools in Georgia. The exams are designed to measure how well students are mastering Georgia's state-adopted standards. Students are tested annually in English Language Arts and math in grades 3-8 and in Algebra I, American Literature, Biology, and US History at high school. Georgia Milestones scores are categorized into four learning levels: Beginning, Developing, Proficient, and Distinguished.
